Announcing a New Podcast: “Aspire for More: How to be an Everyday Negotiator”

I am incredibly excited to share with you the launch of my brand-new podcast, "Aspire for More: How to be an Everyday Negotiator."

This podcast is all about empowering individuals, especially women, with the essential negotiation skills needed to navigate both personal and professional challenges successfully.

In each episode of "Aspire for More," I will be addressing real-life negotiation dilemmas. Listeners will have the opportunity to call in with their own scenarios, seeking advice on how to handle anything from requesting a raise at work to managing difficult family dynamics.

No matter the situation, I'll be applying my ASPIRE framework—a unique approach designed specifically to help women tackle negotiations while navigating gender biases that often influence these interactions.

(If you want to learn more about the ASPIRE framework, check out my mini online course, the Fundamentals of Negotiation for Women (FNW) Express which will prepare you for your next negotiation in under 90 minutes.)

Why a Podcast?

I know it seems like everyone has a podcast these days, but I really wanted to give folks an easy way to learn more about negotiation little by little.

It’s also become more and more clear to me that much of the negotiation advice circulating today fails to account for the unique challenges women face. Too often, conventional tips come from a one-size-fits-all perspective (often from well-intentioned, yet, uninformed men), overlooking the inherent biases that can impact outcomes.

The 30-second snippets of advice you see on social media don’t allow for the nuance and thoughtfulness that each negotiation requires. (I cringe every time I see the “use this script to negotiate your salary” TikToks.)

Many of my clients have shared their experiences of feeling ill-equipped and pressured when it comes to negotiation. "Aspire for More" is my response—a platform dedicated to teaching practical, research-based negotiation strategies tailored to empower women and anyone else looking to cultivate effective negotiation skills.

What can I expect?

I’ve already received great feedback!

The first two episodes are already out!

Episode 1 is with Hannah, who got quoted a $90 repair job for $25 shoes. We unpack how she can negotiate price and how to get less flustered in the moment.

Episode 2 is with Jenny, who wants to take a 3-4 month sabbatical from her government job, when they don’t have a standard policy for long-term breaks. We also discuss how to make the request in a way that preserves her relationship with her supervisor.

I’ll also be releasing some episodes of other podcasts with negotiation and career experts where I’ve been invited as a guest.
